Mold Tech

After getting quotes from a number of companies to remove mold out of my basement, I got one from Mold Tech (it was really nice that he returned my call immediately).
Their quote was comparable to the others, but what sealed the deal was Charles' professionalism, and his all around being very up front with information, and taking technical information and conveying it without confusing jargon (I hate it when people hide in jargon).
When he came in my home to see the mold, he calmly explained not only how they would proceed with the removal, but also why the problem occurred in the first place.
On the day of the job, they arrived on time (which was nice), brought in all their equipment (which was a bit intimidating), and there was next to no discussion as they set up a containment area and began work (got the feel they'd done this hundreds of times).
Two days later, everything was done. Simple as that. Seriously.
They took care of my belongings in the moldy area as well, cleaning what could be cleaned and disposing of what could not.
All in all, Charles and team took a very stressful situation for me and made it as stress-free and painless as possible.
Hope to heavens I never have mold again, but if I do...

Charles was able to come assess and give a free quote right away. What a pleasant guy! He explained the scope of the problem and what he would do to address it clearly and thoroughly. Our basement rec room had had some mould visible on the walls. As Charles predicted, the mould was present far more extensively behind the walls, and in places we might not have expected - but he knew where to find it. His guys, pleasantly, courteously, thoughtfully, removed all of the affected materials in the room, right down to the concrete, on exactly the timeline that was initially proposed.

The main work was done in a room that was double-sealed off from the rest of the house, with a hepa filter vacuum continually running (even while the moldtech crew was off-site), that left us feeling relaxed and assured that the air quality in the rest of our home was not being affected while the work was going on.

In all of our interactions, Charles took as much time as needed to answer every last one of our many questions, both about the main affected area in the basement and about other potential sites of concern. Over the course of the work, he identified issues in the house that had contributed to the growth of mould, and suggested manageable solutions. He was also able to recommend materials to reconstruct the affected room that would avoid mould regrowth. His wealth of knowledge and experience were invaluable. We also appreciated his calm, reliable, flexible manner.

While the price we agreed upon was for the basement work, when we discovered some affected baseboard in two other rooms, Charles had these areas addressed without adding anything onto the original quote.

Furthermore, he was able to come up with an easy, low cost solution to address mould on grouting in a bathroom and avoid a costly renovation.

I never give perfect ratings but MoldTech is a exception.

I contacted MoldTech after my basement flooded in July 2013. The concern in my case was that the flood waters were contaminated with sewage and thus, my home needed to be sterilized. I am much more particular than the average person when it comes to cleanliness, so I was worried about finding a company that would do the job to my satisfaction. MoldTech was that company.

The MoldTech crew worked painstakingly, yet quickly to get the job done. They tested surfaces as they went to ensure that treated areas were truly clean and they were very careful not to recontaminate during the process. The MoldTech team were pleasant, polite and reassuring throughout, showing respect for me and my property. Not only did they do a great job sanitizing my home, but they were caring enough to help me out with a couple of small favours which was really above and beyond the call. If all that wasn't enough, they were flexible about final payment, enabling me to co-ordinate with my insurance company so that there was no financial strain.

I have been a homeowner for 25 years and I can honestly say that I've never been more pleased with any home service than I was with MoldTech. I wish I could hire them for every home related project because their kind of service simply cannot be matched.

When we were building the deck in our dream home we discovered the previous owner had a poorly installed jacuzzi in one of the basement rooms which led to us having a serious black mold problem in 2 rooms in our basement. We ended up having to put our whole deck construction project on hold. The process to a regular person seems impossible and extremely tedious but one missed step and we knew that we would risk contaminating other parts of the house. The Moldtech team was extremely diligent, professional, hygenic and efficient throughout the entire process and they cleared up our problem within the period of time they specified.

If I could have sold our home and ran away when we first knew we had mold we would have, Moldtech not only cleared out our issues, they restablished the integrity of home which we will forever be grateful for. When we brought it the other company to inspect their work they even inadvertantly complimented the thoroughness of the work that Moldtech had done.
