Hi Luis, sorry for the delayed response. We had to look in our archives to get the technician's notes as this service call occurred close to a year ago. After reviewing your file, we see that our technician came to your home to do a 21 point maintenance and inspection on your furnace. When doing this maintenance, he found a small oil leak from your furnace motor and brought to your attention that it may give you a problem in the future. Our policy is to have our technicians inform our customers of all potential issues even if they are minor, as I'm sure any customer would be upset if their furnace failed after having a maintenance and inspection performed. He provided a quote for you so that if the motor should fail in the future you are already aware of the cost. This is to save time if your furnace fails and needs the repair. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding, but we do feel we should inform our customers of all potential problems their furnace may have when performing an inspection so they can make informed decisions in the future. We do leave it up to the customer's discretion whether they would prefer to be proactive and perform the repair, or wait and keep the information on file for their personal reference.
