FinishedBasement.ca did an incredible job in creating my small basement into a beautiful living space. The work crew (framers/drywall installers, plumbers, electricians and painters) were always at my house every morning on time to start work. The attention to details working on my basement was spot on and always involved me for any questions they needed answered to how I wanted the basement to look.

I would like to thank Vitaliy (Sales Manager/Consultant), Igor (layout design) and Natalie (decor ideas) for their wonderful involvement throughout the renovation process.

We hired this company after our basement was flooded by a water main break. As we live downtown Toronto they were reluctant to take on our job at first but we were happy that they did. The basement is amazing! The work was done in Jan 2015.

We were really impressed by how fast the work progressed and the long hours the crew put in. If you want your project done quickly and done well this is your team. There were some miscommunications around costs that weren't included in our original estimate but they were reasonable enough about it to give us a good will discount. Our house is from the 80's and part of the work was converting a garage so since it was maybe different from their usual work they weren't able to estimate the costs as closely.

Anyway we are very happy with the end result and our 2 year old son loves to show off his new basement to all our visitors.

From our first meeting with Kyle, to designing with Igor, to plotting out the electrical with Igor and then picking out colours / flooring with Natalie we were impressed. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and patient. We never got the feeling we were being “sold” but rather taken care of as if we were family.

We really liked how organized the whole company is as well. It’s a well oiled machine which means there was nothing for us to stress about. They take care of everything in house and make sure everyone they deal with has the same standards that they do.

The work that they did was above and beyond our expectations and we couldn’t be more thrilled with our new living space. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone

My wife and I had our basement renovated by finishedbasement.ca in July 2014 and their work is excellent and they were accurate on time of completion. What they delivered was above and beyond our expectations.

We primarily dealt with Kyle to crunch numbers then dealt with Igor for the design. Igor has a great sense of experience and design, and all he needed was a roll of masking tape to lay down the design. We had a design idea in mind before Igor came in, but when we met up with him, he gave us better ideas for utilizing/maximizing our space.

During the whole 2 week process, the communication between us and Kyle/Igor was excellent, any questions or concerns we had were answered right away. They were there every step of the way, letting us know what was going to happen next. We also had a great experience with all the workers that came out - from electricians to plumber to framers, etc. They were all really respectful and cleaned up after themselves every night.

I know 100% we made the right decision to became part of the finishbasements.ca family.

Finishedbasement created the basement of our dreams! Their professionalism and timely responses from the very beginning set them apart from all other contractors. They were always punctual and never missed an appointment. Igor was open to listening to our design ideas and helped us create a finished product that is beautiful and functional. Every stage of the project was executive in a timely and thorough manner - Euri, Vitaly, Kyle and Natali were all great to work with. The mudding and taping stage was also flawless.

We have worked with several contractors and wished all would share the same work ethic and pride in their work. My only wish is they would expand their services to all other levels of the home! I would definitely recommend finishedbasement to everyone and will gladly use them again in my next home!

Igor and his crew were great. He took us thru the process from start to finish and made great suggestions. Igor was great to deal with, made us feel at ease with the whole process. Within 2.5 weeks our basement was completed. The framing, drywall, flooring and the details were perfect all thanks to his guys. I highly recommend Finished Basement.

Igor and his crew were highly efficient, respectful, and delivered a basement of exceptional quality in only 2 weeks. We were amazed at their proficiency and would definitely recommend them to anybody.

Thanks to Ihor and Vitaliy's team of experienced and hardworking craftsmen, in just under 3 weeks we went from a complete demolition to a completely renovated basement, with excellent quality workmanship, and an impressive array of products and finishes sourced both locally and internationally, to make certain that the look and feel of the new basement would meet our expectations and needs for years to come. Thoughtful, dedicated, caring, and very tidy! Make you feel like you are one of the family.

I got my basement built in June 2014 by the crews of finishedbasement.ca and the work is fantastic. The craftmanship and professionalism of the crews is top notch. If the finished craftmanship is important to you; then this team will deliver as or above your expectation. I dealt with Vitaliy and he’s a man of his words; keeping and delivering the promises he made during the negotiation throughout the project. His dad, Igor, is amazing with his skills and experiences. Prior the work started, Igor came to give an layout to what the basement would be looked like. He did not need a measurement tape and eyeballed the distances and drew out the layouts; I took a tape and measured the distance values he was eyeballing and Whoa, they are banged on!!! I’m still amazed by the experience; it was fun! On top of that, Igor is a very nice man; he shares his experiences, giving advises/ideas to help to visualize your desire finished basement before it even started. In my case, we are able to maximize our space.
One disastification experienced during the project was that after the plumbing crews completed their job; they did not spend time to show us what had been done. Acknowleging that they worked late till 10pm (we provided pizza/drink) and the job completed properly but since they had decided to stay late to finish the work; it’s not unreasonable to ask for a 5 minutes of touring what they had done and answering any question/concern we might have. So far, no major issue/concern with the plumbing work is encountered yet.
Hence, I think that a communication skill of the crews need to be improved more and that would make the finishedbasement.ca team a totally completed package. For an example, there should be a staff in each team that do a quick 5 mins around with home owner after each work day to show what’s been done, what’s coming and/or answer questions/concerns on site that a home owner may have. Vitaliy is just a phone call away for any question at any time but sometime it’s much easy to have someone answering a question on site. Furthermore, most homeowners are probably not familiar with construction terminology; hence it’s easier to ask an onsite staff exactly what a homeowner sees as a concern. Finishing a basement in 2 weeks time frame is intense to the crews as well as to the home owners; hence any transparent communication that can be done quickly can ease the nerves as well as any potential mis-understanding on both sides.
It was a right decision to go with finishedbasement.ca to complete my basement as it was done above my expectation. I would definitely use finishedbasement.ca again if I ever need to do another basement.
