310RENO Design & Renovation

Our full basement reno journey started way back before the pandemic. Weve always wanted to renovate our basement but we have a couple of challenges with our space that we didnt have a solution for.

One is the low ceiling area where the mud room on the main floor is at. We werent sure how we could utilize this space because the ceiling is just a little over 6ft. We were reluctant to close it off as we thought its a pretty significant space and might affect the open concept look that were trying to achieve.

The other big challenge is this funky way the builders of our house configured the air ducts downstairs. Its kind of hard to describe in words but basically one of the ducts ran over the supporting I-beam in the basement but instead of going up and over the beam, it went under it so theres this U-shaped vent shaft that takes up a pretty significant space. Anyway, weve delayed our basement renovation because we couldnt figure out what to do with these problems. Weve tried looking it up on the internet for other basement reno projects that may have had the same issues. Weve consulted with other contractors on what they think would be the best solution. None of them offered anything that we thought we would be happy with. Then the pandemic happened and we had to put any plans to renovate on hold.

When we were finally able to look into it again, we contacted 310 Reno. I described the situation to Mike over the phone and we scheduled a time for him to come over and see it. We couldnt do anything about the low ceiling other than closing it off and use it as storage space. He did assure us though that we can still achieve the open concept look that we want.

For the air duct, he was able to propose a solution that would remove the U-shape vent by reconfiguring and relocating the ducts to under the stairs. We were finally able to find a contractor with a solution that we are happy with. We hired them and they went to work.

Our designer was Alexandra who was very accommodating and knowledgeable. We first communicated with her through text messages. Then we met with her via Zoom so we could show her what we want for our basement design. She had lots of good ideas that fit within our concept. We also met with her in person to pick our tiles and flooring and finalize the design.

Denis and Andrey were our installers and Arie was the Project Manager. They were polite and friendly as well and were able to answer any questions we may have. They also keep us informed if there will be any delays or any issues with the project. There is this one particular issue that I know would have caused us problems later after theyve finished the project. Denis was able to catch it and identify the issue and the team was able to fix it. The project took longer than some other contractors were quoting us but their workmanship and attention to detail makes up for the extra few weeks that it took for the project to finish.

We are extremely happy with the final results and grateful for 310 Reno. To Mike, Alexandra, Arie, Denis, and Andrey, thank you so much for making our dream of a finished basement become a reality!

I cant recommend 310RENO enough. We are so pleased with the work they did in our bathroom, which involved a full gut to the studs, and was not easy given our home is 102 years old as a start, meant removal of a cast iron tub and lath and plaster walls and the space was very small to work in. It is our only full bathroom, used by 3 people, and being very small it needed a lot of love and a new layout to function well.

We spoke to 3 other contractors when selecting which company to choose, and it was an easy decision after the very helpful initial discussions with Alexandra, their designer. Prices were fair and reflected the high quality of work.

I was the most impressed with our project manager and main day-to-day craftsman, Igor, who handled all aspects of the work save for tiling, plumbing and electrical. Hes truly skilled and extremely knowledgeable, and it is clear he takes pride in his work to do things right. He always communicated very well throughout, with daily updates, and was very easy and patient to work with when it came to making decisions or troubleshooting. Vlad, who did tiling and plumbing was equally skilled, and Roni, the electrician, was wonderful and did excellent work as well. Alexandra had some great suggestions along the way also to help us get just the look we were wanting, such as with having tiled niches to ensure a uniform look. A big thanks also to Mike for overseeing/supporting things along the way and working with me to resolve things quickly and fairly when we had a couple minor hiccups.

All in all, I felt like we really had an A-team on this work and the outcome says it loud and clear. What used to be a cramped, outdated, water-damaged and utterly dysfunctional bathroom is now gorgeous, usable space, and I have confidence it will stand the test of time. When I decided to get our Primary Ensuite Bathroom renovated in the summer, I had no idea what to expect as this was our first renovation of this magnitude since we bought the house more than 18 years ago. After much research online, I narrowed the list down to get quotes and met with (virtually and/or in person) several contractors.
After looking through everything we decided to go with 310-RENO because their level of service impressed me and they were price competitive. While their quote wasnt the cheapest of those we received but when you consider that you get a designer included in your project theirs offered the most value overall. We also felt comfortable knowing that there was a warranty on their work in case they need to come back again in the near future. 

While there was a long wait for a fixture (specific faucet I wanted), construction started in November and took 2 full weeks including Saturdays. My project Manager Jozef was so great to work with and kept me updated on progress and answered my many questions. I also enjoyed working with the Designer Alexandra who took the time to go tile shopping with me as well as on her own time more than once until we came up with the perfect tile combination. She also saved the day when an issue with the tile measurements (Tile was smaller than specified) by coming up with a new design idea almost on the spot. This meant stopping work while she ran out to find a new tile that would eventually become a border around the floor and shower that ended up looking very sharp and unique. 
Even after the project was finished when I noticed a few areas that required some minor touching up, they came back within 2 days to complete all the touch ups. I have also since had questions about things like cleaning the linear shower drain and have received quick and friendly help with my questions. 
The bathroom turned out really great as you can see from the photos Ive attached. They did a top notch job in addition to having been really good to work with throughout the process. We hope to tackle our Kitchen next at some point and will definitely be contacting 310-RENO again. 

Mike and his team are exceptionally skilled at what they do. The process did not seem rushed, but they completed the tiling quickly and efficiently while keeping a clean workspace. They had excellent attention to detail, and the finished product was nearly flawless. There were some tricky bits that they made it look easy. Their demeanour was professional and friendly. We highly recommend 310RENO to anyone seeking quality renovations and excellent customer service!

Mike and his team were exceptional!! While finishing our basement during covid I needed to choose flooring. However I had to do it online, and when the flooring arrived I realized it wasn't what I wanted and it wasn't as simple as simply exchanging it. Mike was very accommodating with my ever changing decisions and he was able to get the flooring changed for us. We love our basement and the work that was done. If anyone wants to deal with a professional and efficient reno company I would only recommend 310 Reno

Very positive experience working with 310Reno. Project completed per quote (no "extras") and within time frame promised. Designer a huge help. Made choice of materials and colours easy. We went with all of her suggestions including tile, vanity, counter top and paint and it looks great. Workmanship was good quality and cleaned up daily. Quick turnaround on install of countertop and shower door once measured.
Called by management on completion to ensure we were fully satisfied with work done. A definite "Yes".

I searched for weeks trying to find a contractor for my home renovation. 310reno responded and came through with flying colours. They were punctual and worked hard to get the job done on time. We made the right decision going with 310RENO. We vetted quite a few companies and 310RENO was a standout that started with their intake process to completion of a full from studs Bathroom reno. Work was completed on time and on budget with top level work. We are grateful for partnering with them on this. The guidance proved invaluable overcoming design challenges of a near century house, with results that exceeded our expectations. The only area that could have been better for us would have been around communication around scheduling. This was stressful at times, but Id say looking at our experience as a whole, we came out way ahead (professional, collaborating, high quality work). 310Reno was able to start my project within 3 months of contacting them. They assigned a designer to assist us in picking out finishes and our contractor Mark was absolutely amazing. He was there everyday and did excellent work. He is highly recommended. We went a couple weeks over schedule but that was due to us adding to the scope of work. In the end we replaced all the main floor tile, the stair spindles, scraped the popcorn ceiling, full gut/reno of powder bath and main bath, painted most of the house and replaced most of our light fixtures and installed potlights throughout.
