I got a quote of $15,000 from a local asphalt roofing company to remove my existing shingles. They wanted to install plywood on the whole roof before installing the shingles because we live in an older home where we have plank roofing and the asphalt shingle manufacturer would not warranty their product on a plank roof. I was expecting a metal roof to be more expensive than a shingle roof. I had New Steel Roofers come in and quote me on a Stone-Coated Steel Shingle roof and surprisingly, the metal roof price quote was less than the asphalt one. The guys from New Steel Roofers did a great job, they were professional and courteous at all times. I also noticed over the rest of the summer, after the new metal roof was installed, the bedroom upstairs was noticably cooler. Thanks guys for a job well done!
