Sonoma Contracting did an excellent job on our kitchen renovation. They were: reliable; honest; completed the work in the amount of time estimated with little delay; reasonable price/cost for the work completed; and flexible to our family needs.

We have been very pleased with the finished job by Mike and his crew - they were terrific! Good workmanship, knowledgeable advice and easy to get along with. Everything according to code and safety regulations. We couldn't be more pleased.

They built a basement apartment from scratch with the following: laundry facilities, kitchen, bath, bedroom, study, living-room area and entrance hall. They did the plumbing, wiring, tiling, sound-proofing the apartment, insulation, and installed bathroom, kitchen, heating, air-conditioning, lights and much more. Great job! We highly recommend them.

This review is long overdue, but a few life events have taken priority. Better late than never, I suppose.

We needed our main floor demolished to allow for a complete renovation. Sonoma Contracting had the most competitive price out of the four bids we reviewed. However, Mike's patience and ability to answer our endless number of questions is what really set his company apart from the rest.

Once the start date was established, Mike, Aldo and the crew showed up right on time, completing the demolition on budget and just under time.

There was a very minor incident involving a shared wall with our neighbour, however, Mike and Aldo quickly resolved it much to our satisfaction and more importantly, the neighbour's.

We'd definitely consider Sonoma Contracting again for future projects.

We are delighted with our new finished basement. Mike was wonderful to work for and is the type of guys that gives contractors a good name. MIke Holmes would agree, I'm quite sure. We obtained 4 estimates for our basement before going with Mike. Apart from his competitive quote, what appealed to us was MIke's down to earth approach and easy going manner.

They say with every job there will be the hidden problem and our case was no exception. However, we were happy that it was discovered and we were able to get it fixed. Mike brought in experts and a back wall of our house was replaced due to water damage. We didn't even know this was a problem before starting on the basement.

We were in no major rush and so timelines were not that important to us. What we were more interested in was quality workmanship and that is what we got, including my lovely cedar closet; an awesome bathroom; the built in bookshelves (thanks Tony); and the gorgeous slate tile. It is better than we hoped for and we would work with Mike and his team again in a heart beat. Thank you so much Mike!

We had Sonoma build a finished basement in our home last fall and I was thrilled to be able to work with Mike, Aldo and their team again as I opened my own business.
While Sonoma usually does residential renovation, they agreed to bid on my commecial job. Not only was the bid comparable to the others I received, they brought in the project on budget and on time. It is such a pleasure to work with professionals who listen to your design input and take it up to the next level.

Mike and his team were hired to do a complete kitchen renovation. Included in the scope of work was: removal of old flooring, leveling of existing cement sub-floor, raising of ceiling, fixing of various drywall, installation of pot lights, tiling back splash, plumbing of new sink and dishwasher.

Mike's prices and quote were competitive with the other contractors we had sourced. What set Mike apart was his honesty and personality. We hired Mike confident that we had selected the right contractor.

Mike and his crew did an excellent job. Like all renovations there were unexpected challenges faced which Mike helped us to overcome. Mike and his crew were prompt showing up when they were scheduled to.

A special mention to Mike's tile and flooring guys who did an excellent job with a difficult back-splash installation.

Thought they were really good. Mike and Aldo and crew very personable and pleasant to deal with. We thought their workmanship was excellent. Whenever we called back he responded immediately. Couldn't have gone smoother, unless it was free. :)

Another fantastic job by Mike, Aldo and crew. After a water leak, Mike replaced my kitchen ceiling and installed potlights, put crown moulding in two rooms, oak-capped my basement stairs and did some other small jobs. Mike had redone my basement in 2009 and I didn't hesitate to contact him again for the upstairs work. His pricing is very competitive and accurate. It's always enjoyable working with Mike - not only do you get an excellent contractor, he's got a great sense of humour too!

It was a pleasure working with Mike and Aldo. Their work is top notch. I've done numerous renovations with other contractors in the past, all who've delivered great results.
