Vinyl Siding

Trusted the good reviews and gave this company a try. Turned out to be very regrettable. Extremely dissatisfied with quality of work and customer service. Unaccountable, unorganized, inefficient, rude, arrogant. Problems all the way and caused alot of grief. Tried my best to resolve issues but they were dismissive and unco-operative. I DO NOT recommend bringing your business to these people. Absolutely will not deal again.

Approximate cost of services:
$1,000.00

Company Response

We are concerned but must point out that it is very rare that there is ever a complaint concerning vinyl siding. Siding products seldom require servicing of any kind and under normal conditions, provide years of extremely low maintenance.

It is, for this reason, that the manufacturer (Kaycan) provides a lifetime non-prorated limited warranty, and also has a 50-year prorated limited warranty for transferees.

Consumer’s Choice Home Improvements contacted Home Stars to request that they ask the writer to call us directly to attend to their concerns, and we were and remain willing and happy to perform an inspecation to determine whether this is a matter of workmanship or a concern which should be forwarded to the manufacturer. We do guarantee our workmanship and we are members of SAWDAC (Siding and Window Dealers Association of Canada). All siding jobs are, therefore, warranted for both labour and material. It could be that the matter should be forwarded to the manufacturer, in which case, the complaint would be with the manufacturer, and not with Consumer’s Choice.

To date, the writer has refused to permit Home Stars, Consumer’s Choice, or the manufacturer to assist them. We researched our files and there is no complaint or service request of this nature recorded. Also, the complainant has chosen to remain anonymous and advised Home Stars that they do not want service from Consumer’s Choice or the manufacturer at this time. In fact, they have chosen to dismiss our good-faith attempts to resolve their concerns. We can only presume, therefore, that they no longer require us to attend to their problem, or, perhaps they are mistaken and they were never actually a customer of Consumer’s Choice.
