Bathroom Washroom cartridge replacement-charged too much

New Water Plumbing Inc. charged people too much . It is not worth all the work that they have done. They just changed our shower cartridge and it cost more than $260. We are not happy at all.

Extremely Overpriced Valve Replacement for Condo

I used their services few months ago and was grossly over billed for both - parts and labour.

Plumber worked for about 1.5-2 hours and billed for 3.5 hours. Charged $50 each for two valves he replaced, which are available in Home Depot for about $16 each. All in all, they billed me $520.93 for replacing two valves.

I used their services because they were recommended by the building management company. Had I seen these reviews before, I would have avoided them entirely.

Valve replacement

Extremely Expensive. Paid 530$ to have valves replaced in condo unit.
Very disappointing considering how basic the job is and the relationship company has with my condo building.
Most importantly poor customer service.
I contacted company 6 times over the course of 5 weeks to discuss my bill. Each time I called I was assured that management will review and get back to me. I received no follow-up. Eventually, I called again and finally spoke to management who provided no support of my concern.

DAMAGED BATHROOM TILES

1. New Water Plumbing ***DAMAGED*** my bathroom tiles with multiple, long, white scratches spanning 2 tiles during removal/reinstall of my toilet.

2. Plumber did *Not* permit me to watch while he performed work on my property. He did *Not* employ the company-provided protective fabric cover. As such, I did not catch the damage until after I signed the invoice and he departed.

3. Plumber was unprofessional, *intimidating* and employed *foul language* once when addressing me, frequently communicating in the imperative.

The Service Manager was professional/normal and inspected the same day to confirm the damage, apologize and promised to repair/replace the tile in 4-6 weeks. UPDATE: Tiles were fixed as promised so management was professional.

Recommendations:

1. Insist on speaking with the plumber directly before you agree to accept his visit or any charges. If uncomfortable on the phone, ask for someone else.

2. Insist on watching work being performed on your property.

3. Inspect area after work's complete, while plumber is present, quickly clean debris with to do so.

$300.00

Shower / Water Flow

Excellent customer service - following consultation / co-ordination with Rick and Dave. Joe was my Service Technician. Arrived on time; replaced cartridge in ensuite shower to regulate uneven hot & cold water flow; offered patient explanation of this repair work in response to my enquiries. Spotless clean, efficient, professional with a sense of humour. Will definitely call again, if required.

replacing kitchen under sink pipes

My experience with nwp was: nwp plumber performed unnecessary slow to bill longer hours, or/and this is because of his inexperience. I wonder if it would be hiring plumber lack of discipline or control from nwp.

Repiping Condo Unit

I bought a condo that had hot and cold water pipes that have been recalled ie. Kitec plumbing. I decided to use new water plumbing because they have the contract for the building I purchased. I was a little nervous after reading the reviews and having a hard time getting in contact with the person in charge, but was totally satisfied with the job this company did. The two plumbers, (Jerry and JD), they sent were punctual, polite and knowledgeable and saved me over $1000 by not having to destroy either bathroom tiles. They did the work in less time than I was quoted and cleaned up after themselves each day. These guys work very hard and were definitely a good value. I've heard other similar jobs costing people double the price! This was a fairly big job and I would recommend this company for your plumbing needs.

Approximate cost of services:
$2,800.00

Bath Valve Leaking

Worst experience ever. My bath tap was leaking water a little bit. I talked my condo management office. They advised me to contact New Water Plumbing. Then I started to contact the company. I sent pictures and explained problem to them by email and phone. The said they will call me back. I waited for about 5 days. No one called me back. Then I called the company again. They couldn't find my case. On the phone it sounded like they got confused my case confused with another address or whatever. They said they'd call me back again. I waited for another 5 days. Still no one called me back. This time I called the company again and explained my bath leaking problem like a new customer call in. They recalled my problem and set up an appointment for me.
Then the nightmare began. On the appointment day, the plumper came on time with one greeting "I am a plumber". Then he came in my condo without taking off shoes (not even asked to do so). At that moment, I was okay because he could probably fix my bath leaking problem. He took out a wrench and tried to twisted the valve for only 2 times. Then he told me. It will cost about $600. I said that would be too much for me. I would not like to continue the job. Then he said each visit the minimal charge will be $150 which the office lady did not tell me at all. At the beginning, I was okay with some visit charge even the office lady did not tell me. However, the plumber did not even spend 3 mins in my condo. Then he come up with the $600 and $150 amount. I was so shocked and irritating. And during the whole process, the plumber did not perform any professionalism and patience at all !!! I refused to pay. He didn't care at all. He called his supervisor or manager. Then left without a word. This is the worst experience and service I have ever had.

Kitchen sink

The service is terrible. The plumber changed our kitchen pipe (which is not broken, but he insisted a new one, OK) and the next day the pipe went apart. WE can't use the kitchen at all. Called the company and they said they couldn't get anybody to come and fix the problem. IT's due to their lousy job and they are not fixing it???? The person who picked up the phone is very rude. Avoid the company if you can.

Dishwasher installation & Install Braided Hosing for Laundry/Dryer

I called New Water Plumbing because they are one of two plumbing companies that are contracted by our condominium in downtown Toronto, and they were recommended by the condo management. I called in and had two jobs that needed to be done: a plug-in dishwasher installation and replacing the rubber hoses in the washer/dryer with stainless steel braided hoses. I informed the company at the appointment time that I had no parts and would pay for the parts once they are supplied. I asked for an approximation of how long these jobs would take and was told 1.5 hours which sounded reasonable because hey, it was just installing a dishwasher and replacing two hoses right.

On the day of the job the tenants were in the apartment and the plumber was on time, but apparently did not know that he had to replace the hoses on the laundry/dryer and had no parts. I called New Water and they said it was fine, that they would source the parts nearby and I would not be charged for the extra time. Great.

In any case 3 hours later I received a message from my tenants who said that the plumber left an invoice of $458.78 for the two jobs, but the dishwasher was not fully installed because he did not have a certain electrical component. They also said that the plumber left multiple times during the job to get parts from his truck, did not realize the dishwasher was height adjustable and was about to leave at one point because "the dishwasher doesn't fit under the counter" (the wheels are height adjustable), AND in the end was somehow was unable to finish the job.

Needless to say I was shocked that these two very simple jobs would add up to such a high amount. Taking a look at the invoice, not only are the parts VERY expensive ($36 for a dishwasher hose), there were other charges that looked very fishy (G.P.S. $16.50? What in the world is a GPS charge? Are we not in the era of google maps and in any case, apparently this particular plumber has come to the condo many many times so please don't tell me that he doesn't know how to get there and is going to charge me for the GPS. That is just the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of), and you would expect that the person they send would actually know how to install a dishwasher when that's the job they were sent to do. What irks me even more is that I feel they were taking advantage of my tenants to some extent, leaving for 15-20 minutes at a time to get one part or another, not even completing the dishwasher installation, etc., which made them feel uncomfortable as I told them it should have been an easy job that took very little time (which it should have been).

Anyway, I have called New Water Plumbing and informed them that I would like to speak with them about the various charges on the invoice and for the time charged. I am still waiting on them to call me back.
