Smelly drain

Initially Roy talked me through a solution over the phone that cleared the problem somewhat but not totally. He therefore came and looked at the drain, suggested an easy, inexpensive and permanent solution that rectified the problem. If I could give a 10+ rating I would.

Basement Drain Clearing

I had a sewage back-up in my basement. I'd had the City Water department in to check if it was a problem on my property or on the City's, and when they found it was on my, I came on Homestars to find a good person to help me out. Mayday Drain Services had impeccable reviews, so I decided to call. Roy agreed to come at a time convenient for me. He arrived on time, and was very quick. He used his camera to diagnose the problem, and had the problem cleaned out in no time. While there's a hole in my pipe, Roy advised not doing extra, expensive, and currently unnecessary repairs. I felt that showed real integrity. The price was very affordable, and Roy was a complete gentleman throughout the whole process. I'll definitely be calling him for any future problems.

basement main drain backup overflow

Roy arrived and saved the day! After taking showers last night we realized the main drain was not draining by water on the basement floor pooled around the main drain. A google search led to Mayday Drain Services on Homestars, and the reviews were impeccable! The reviews reflected exactly what we got: fair, courteous, honest, clean service from a true gentleman. After asking a few questions, Roy used modern, state-of-the-art equipment to scope the drain using a colour CCTV camera equipped with a DVD writer. He was able to find the problems in no time, and fix them properly. In our case we had tree roots that had grown under our home and crept into the joints of the original sewer clay pipes. Using advanced snaking technology and know-how, Roy cut through those nasty roots and cleared the pipes well! He sent the camera down again to ensure there were no more obstructions. There were a few more roots that had to be reached from a different location, and he removed those as well. He cleaned everything up and left me with perfect drainage for a fraction of the cost of competitors. ** Watch out for companies looking to upsell you for additional services and costly, unnecessary replacements and repairs ** Oftentimes you do not need to dig up your driveway and/or basement. Don't bother calling anyone else, go to the best! Thank you very much Roy!!

Replaced existing breather system with drain cleanouts

After 10 quotes I hired Mayday based on my initial meeting with Roy Gibson. He took his shoes off without asking(!), did a free camera inspection (I had been charged $275 by a competitor when my drain backed up), provided a clear description of the issue and double-checked other drains in our home for issues. He even discovered a sump pump we had installed during a basement renovation was not plugged in (for which my husband is very grateful!) His crew arrived the next day (the Saturday of a long weekend after a snowstorm) and did not disappoint. On time, respectful of our property, great communication through the process - they were a pleasure to deal with. Roy even came back that day and ran the camera through both ways to ensure that there were no issues with the rest of the pipes. Our front lawn looks untouched other than two clean-outs. I would highly recommend Mayday Drains.

Smelly basement!

We assumed our smelly basement was the result of a sewage back-up, but Roy showed us, through his camera, that there was no blockage there. He found the cause to be a blocked sump-pump which he cleared for us. He even cleaned out my dryer vent while he was at it! Roy is knowledgeable, professional, straightforward - and a pleasure to work with.

Basement toilet train - camera

Roy was efficient and helpful. Our basement toilet had been leaking and we could only get 6ft when we snaked it ourselves. Roy put his camera down to check what was happening and noticed the toilet was hooked up to a drain in the floor. He recommended someone to help us solve the problem and called him right on the spot. This way he was able gave us an approximate quote and marked the floor for where the work needed to be done. We really valued his opinion, and compare to what other companies were offering just for the camera - Roy was much more reasonable. Thanks!

installing a 16 inch long drain pipe in basement floor for tub

i called a local plumber to have him put in a drain for a new tub i was installing.. it was about 2 ft. from the toilet..he said it would cost between $1,700-$2,000.
i called Roy and he passed me on to Mr. Victor Raschilla of Clean-out Drain Service. Victor and his helper came on a Sat. AM, finished the job in half a day, for a quarter of the price of the local plumber. i thank both Roy and Victor for their honesty and their quality workmanship..and would give them more than a 10 rating... thanks heartily, guys.

Blocked Drain

I would give Roy more than a 10 if I could. Very happy with his services for assessing, inspecting and cleaning out our basement toilet drain. We were also very pleased with his referral to his colleague that works on replacing the drain pipes when they can't be cleaned out. Both were very professional, reliable and gave fare prices.

Sewer Line Assessment and Removal of Roots

A different plumber from HomeStars recently inspected my laundry room drain with a camera. They discovered a substantial blockage caused by tree roots. I was told that the only way to fix the problem would be to dig a trench through my basement at a cost of $3600. Otherwise I would be in danger of having sewage back up into my house.

I called Roy for a second opinion and his assessment saved my family a lot of heartache. Roy discovered that a) the storm drain in the laundry room was not connected to my sewage line and b) that my sewage line was clear and in good shape. He was also able to clear up the blockage in the storm drain by simply snaking it.

Roy saved me time, money, stress, and most importantly my basement. I can't believe that I was so close to digging up my storm drain for nothing.

Thank you Roy for providing honest , knowledgable, and reliable service.
