Clera Windows + Doors

The two crank type openers of my 4 pane window needed replacement. Rita of Clera Windows advised me of their warranty plan - under which the cranks would be covered. I signed up for the plan and I will receive the cranks in approx. two weeks. With the warranty plan, I can rely on Clera Windows should anything occur in the future.

Following installation of three windows in our master bedroom, we would NOT recommend this company nor product based on the details below.

Service: Our initial discussions with the sales rep were encouraging and professional. He was able to answer all questions as we shopped around for new bedroom windows. After signing the contract and paying our deposit we learned very shortly thereafter that the salesperson had been terminated. The original agreement was to provide our windows within 8-10 weeks (sometime in November 2023) from the contract date (September 7, 2023).
Clera informed us they had to come and remeasure as they werent confident in the salespersons original measurements. After a series of back and forth calls to figure out who and when someone would come, the remeasure was completed in late September.
The windows were installed April 9, 2024 and we had to contact Clera four times in the eleven days leading up to the installation date asking for their arrival time and site preparation details.

Quality of Windows: Although the windows seem fine, time and weather conditions will tell as to the actual quality of the product. The look and feel of the windows is inferior and less solid than the builder windows they replaced which were 24 years old. Note that sales process we were informed they had no sample windows for us to look at as their head office is in Vaughn Ontario. In hindsight, this should have been a red flag for us.

Installation: The windows were installed by a company contracted out by Clera - i.e. not Clera employees. The four-person installation team was polite, however the quality of installation was poor.
- One piece of interior trim did not fit properly and was replaced with another piece which still didnt fit perfectly but they did the best they could. We need to putty and repaint part of the wall.
- The finishing details are poor -example - messy puttying nail holes on the trim
- The new windows and jambs/sills are dirty inside and outside and were not cleaned by the team - as they are above our garage we will need to climb on the garage roof to clean properly so we can adequately inspect for scratches on the glass
- They replaced a set of three rectangular windows and the bottom of the centre window is not aligned with the two flanking windows - it was installed approximately .25 higher than the other two windows
- At least two areas on one of the window jambs are damaged - one punctured by a finishing nail and one section gouged in two places - vinyl is damaged

We hired Clera Windows to replace two windows in the lower floor and are very pleased with their work. They are super easy to work with, with a competitive price, I would highly recommend their work.

I am a maintenance supervisor for 144 Townhomes. I am responsible for upkeep and replacement of doors and windows for each unit. I have had many sales reps and installation contractors work on our property. I found that many of them are middlemen, small companies that are either overworked or not qualified to do the job properly. Along with the quality and guarantee of the product is only as good as the support provided and if the company stays in business.
It has been a relief for me as well as our homeowners to have the rep from Clera windows and doors (Ottawa) working along with me to bring in quality product at a reasonable price, knowing that the service and warranty is back by a successful manufacturing company that has been established for over 45 years.
The companys representative is very knowledgeable and provides excellent information on Clera windows and doors. He demonstrated the quality of the products and worked with me to provide affordable options, showing me a vast array of window and door selections.
We have had problems in the past with warranty issues from fly by night companies, however, Clera windows are covered by an incredible warranty, and they were very transparent in explaining this to me.
It helps when the product is provided by a direct manufacturer rather than a middleman.
This may sound like a sales pitch, but I am giving this feedback because I have had significant issues with other companies in the past. It is comforting to know that the product is reliable, the cost is reasonable, and the workmanship done is A1. Knowing that, its great to have someone available who takes pride in their company and the product provided. I can also trust Clera, their companies installers, and the service they provide.
Because of the quality and service, I personally had all my windows replaced in my home and I am very satisfied with the improvement of comfort and cost savings experienced, having my windows installed before last winter.

We needed a quick turnaround on replacement windows for our ensuite and Clera came out quickly to measure and quote. The windows were manufactured and installed in the committed timeframe and they look great! I would definitely recommend Clera!

Thank you to Jonathan and the installation team. We personally had an amazing experience and are so happy with our choice of doing black windows. Although the install team took one more day than predicted to finish the job, we are happy with the outcome and the precision of the carpentry work that was done on the inside of the home since they took their time to get it right. We have a front door to replace next year and will be calling the team here in Grimsby when we are ready!

Jonathan was our sales person and was good at his sales pitch but not so accurate on his information or promises. Window order was delayed and many mistakes made including measurements and opening of window. There was also quality issues from installation, trim and torn screens. Installation team and company are not professional. Jonathan would not return calls on a timely manner and promises to show up were either cancelled or not showing up at all. Despite complaints to the head office they take no accountability and make further excuses. Recommended this company initially to many of my neighbours and friends looking to buy windows and doors. However, had to retract my recommendation leaving them to go elsewhere. Unfortunate was too late for one neighbour and they are no going through the same nightmare.
After 9 months still waiting for my job to be complete.

Would not recommend this company or salesman to anyone.

Clera Windows + doors originally installed a complete set of new windows and a patio sliding door in 2013. Since, they have provided additional handles for our windows and just recently repaired an issue with our sliding door handle and locking mechanism. We had to cover the cost of the new door handle (out of warranty) but we still had an issue with the locking mechanism. Clera sent a service man to review and it was determined that the lock required the internal component to be replaced (covered by Clera). Although it required 3 visits the combined total time amounted to 15 minutes. The door handle and locking mechanism is now working perfectly as intended. Rita and Clera have always been extremely responsive and continue to provide outstanding customer service even after 10+ years of the original installation. I would strongly recommend the Clera Team for all your window and door needs!
