Front door for $5039 that has been fixed and I am very happy with the result

I wrote many emails urging Clera Windows + Doors over the 5 year period to fix their defective door. They kept repainting their door over and over again not resolving the issue which is that the paint does not stick to the material that the door is made out of. I am happy to update my review with new picture of the replacement outer shell (New Door) that was installed on May the 7th, 2021. My front door looks great and I was offered the same warranty for the replacement. (paint etc.) I am very satisfied with the new door and how Clera Windows and Door stood behind their product and made things right.

Defective front door for $5039 that has to be painted every 2 years

I wrote many emails urging Clera Windows + Doors over the 5 year period to fix their defective door. They kept repainting their door over and over again not resolving the issue which is that the paint does not stick to the material that the door is made out of.

Here is one of my email urging them the finally fix their product and their response calling me a "bad door owner" and that it is my fault .... PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY ...

Good morning Raj,

We have purchased an outside front door from Clera Window and Doors that has been defective from the very start. We have been patient and accommodating while you to tried to resolve this ongoing issue. The simple fact is that the paint does not stick to the material that the door is made out of. You painted the door again and again never resolving the issue. To claim that I am a bad door owner and that I do not take care of the front door and blame me for your defective product is ludacrous. I assure you that I open and close the door just like everybody else and take care of it as everybody else does and do not abuse the door as you suggest. I am making this final attempt to have this issue resolved. I urge you to replace my defective front door. I should not have to repaint a front door 4 times in 5 years. There is a defect with the door.

This is what they wrote back to me:

Good afternoon Ales,

Hope everyone is doing well in the family and staying safe and healthy.
I passed your information to our door manufacturing facility and they believe all chips are due to general usage of the door and how you have maintained your door. We have thousands of painted doors installed in GTA and we never have to go again and again to fix the same issue. They told you the same thing in 2018 and arranged a painter one last time to look after all chip in the door. Please see attached their response.

Also, our warranty on the paint is for 5 years and we have looked after all your paint issues with in 5 years. My advice to you is to hire a painter and have him touch up the areas in question. Due to pandemic, we are working with fewer people in the factory and we do not have anyone who can go and paint on site.

I understand your frustration and unable to help as we are also dealing with pandemic and trying to make everything work, just like everyone else.

Conclusion:
Clara Window and Door has great way to tell a customer to take a hike, when they sell you a defective product.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM !!

Update - October 29, 2020
Dear Clara Admin, in your most recent update (October 28, 2020) you are quick to point out that I overstated my purchase price by $468 plus HST which by the way I have fixed when it was brought to my attention and it is a non issue. What you should be telling your prospective customers is that your VP does not answer emails he does not like and totally ignores customer issues when not convenient. Therefore, I was not treating legal action as you suggest but simply saying that if he does not answer (my emails) I will seek legal action to force him to deal with your defective door. What other choice do I have? You have conveniently forgot to talk about in your update how in your original response to my review you published by first and last name, my profession my salary range. As well, how you implied that because of my profession I should learn to take of my door. I had to contact HomeStars and they heavily edited your review because it was against their privacy policy. I actually went back through your negative reviews and you have a bad habit of publishing your customers full names in your responses when their reviews are not favourable. I hope you or HomeStars will go ahead and remove your customer's last names which you have looked up in your records.

I also wanted to point out that I have never taken a stroller through my front door and have not carried my children in car seats through my front in the last 3 to 4 years causing any damage. My kids are almost 7 and 9 years old. I don't think they make strollers and portable car seat for that age group. LOL .... You have to come up with a different theory how I am damaging my door. Lastly, the person who came to service my door towards the end of 2018 never notified me that this was the last time you will attempt to fix your ongoing issue with your defective product but again that is the same guy that must have seen the giant baby seat and stroller in my living room and formed this outrages theory of how I am damaging my door.

Thank you for answer/update to my review since you do not answer my emails when seeking clarification about why are you publishing my private and confidential customer information.
