Window & Storm Door Replacement

I replaced 9 windows, 3 basement windows and 3 storm doors. Clera's quote was a few thousand dollars less than the other quote. I was impressed by their ratings and their lifetime guarantee. I was told it would take about 8 weeks till installation after signing the contract in early August. Well, they did not show up until the end of October, about 3 weeks longer than scheduled. The installation was completed in one day, so I was happy with that part.

However, during the winter I found that the screens were very tight and impossible to remove on 4 of the windows. It took over 4 MONTHS for them to finally be delivered!

Screens delivered June 30th. Score improved from 2 to 8.

Approximate cost of services:
$11,500.00

Window & Storm Door Replacement

I replaced 9 windows, 3 basement windows and 3 storm doors. Clera's quote was a few thousand dollars less than the other quote. I was impressed by their ratings and their lifetime guarantee. I was told it would take about 8 weeks till installation after signing the contract in early August. Well, they did not show up until the end of October, about 3 weeks longer than scheduled. The installation was completed in one day, so I was happy with that part.

However, during the winter I found that the screens were very tight and impossible to remove on 4 of the windows. The service crew were good about it but even they agreed that they were too tight and they practically ripped them apart when removing them from the frame. They adjusted the windows and took one of them away as it was bent. I was told many times that they would be ready in the next two weeks one month after they left and I made a request shortly after for another screen that broke when I removed it.

That's when the problems really started. One month after my initial request, the rep told me that he had no idea what I asked for even though we spoke and I sent emails to him. Then 2 months after my initial request I was told that a service rep would call me to set up an appointment. I never heard from them.

Then finally, 3 MONTHS after my initial request for 2 screens, the rep dropped them off at my house when I was not home. They were NOT installed as promised and, the worse thing, THEY WERE BOTH THE WRONG SIZE!!!!!!!!! One of the screens was not even the size of ANY of my windows. I am not impressed.

A few days later I sent an email message and left a voice message with the rep telling him of the issue. I detailed the measurements of the screens that I received and the approximate screen measurements that I needed so that he knew they were NOT even close. I got a blank email reply from the rep almost 2 weeks after this email. Two days after this I was told an installer would be sent to my house to do proper measurements. I waited a week before I emailed the rep telling him I had not heard from the installer. It took the rep another week to call me (June 26th) to tell me that the installer would be at my house within the next week or two. That was the last straw.

So now it has been a FULL month since I received the WRONG screens and a full 4 MONTHS (Feb 27th to June 26th) since my initial request for JUST 2 screens and they have NOT been delivered and installed. No one has actually come to my house to measure the frames for the 2 screens. Only 2 screens!!!! How hard can that be??

Good thing I kept my emails so I could document these events, otherwise I might not even believe this could happen to anybody, let alone me. THE BALLS IN YOUR COURT CLERA. I was ready to give them a decent rating when all this stuff happened. Now I am regretting not going with the other company when I did my initial research.
