I first hired Derek's company on my mom's behalf after the terrible ice storm of 2013. They did a such a great job, they even impressed my elderly mom, who I must say is not so easily pleased!
Just recently, I needed some trees removed on my property so without any hesitation, I called Derek. Again I received outstanding service and results. The crew is hardworking, efficient and knowledgeable. They arrived on time, completed the job in a little over an hour and did a thorough clean-up around the property. Also, my husband accidentally over paid
Derek and when I contacted him to explain the mistake, the money was returned without issue.
I find Derek to be an honest, straight forward and hard-working individual. All of his positive reviews here on Homestars are absolutely correct and certainly well-deserved!

Derek and his team at Derek's Tree Service recently removed a fallen tree due to a storm we just had. Derek was very professional and friendly, he completed the job within a day of providing me with an estimate, it was awesome how fast he was able to complete my job! They arrived on time and did an excellent job! Derek and his team were very friendly and well-mannered, he also gave us suggestions for future tree maintenance. Derek and his team were amazing. They removed 2 large dead ash trees, and work with precision and skill-highly recommended. Would use again for sure. They left the site tidy as well.

I contacted Derek's Tree Service a couple of weeks ago for a quote to remove a willow and soft maple. Mike, from the company, contacted me the next day and gave me a day/time he would come to size the job. Unfortunately, I couldn't be at home at the time, but Mike was kind enough to come and left the quote on my porch. The quote was provided on a Friday and on Sunday, I received a follow-up call from Mike. I was really impressed with this and secured their services that day. Mike kept me updated on availability and today, the team came on time to remove the two trees.

The team tackled the work efficiently and were extremely effective. The tree removal, grinding of the two stumps and clean-up was all done within 2.5 hours. Mike was an extremely pleasant guy to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company for your tree removal needs.

Long answer:
This was our second experience working with Derek's Tree Service. We hired Derek to remove some major limbs from an over-hanging tree. What we got was fast, professional service and much needed safety advice. Within a few minutes of seeing our site, we had an analysis of the tree's health and advice on what to take down to keep a safe and healthy backyard. He pointed out some cracked limbs caused by the previous winter that we hadn't seen and worked with us to find a deal that would make it possible to have our back yard safe from falling tree branches. Derek's crew were friendly, knowledgeable and went the extra mile by pointing out another tree limb with a large crack that they noticed once they began their work; they removed that limb at no extra cost! Their card is up on our fridge and they will be our first call next time we have a job that needs doing.

After much research I made the decision to use Derek's Tree Service INC. For me it was not only price (although this company was very competitive), but more about the dedication the owner presented when visiting my property. Derek is very knowledgeable as an arborist and also very reasonable price wise. I had 20 nearly dead or dying ash trees to remove from property. The cost of 8000 dollars was quite fair considering other quotes i had received. I burn fire wood at home so asked Derek to leave only the good firewood and take the rest (branches, etc.). They ensured all the crotches where branches grow out or the tree splits were removed from the property leaving me only the clean wood. I would not only use this service again but would recommend it to any one looking for a qualified, experienced, arborist company.

They did a very good job taking down a large tree in my backyard. They worked very quickly and were very good at cleaning up the area after as well.

Very pleased with crew and results. Particularly pleased that there was an impeccable clean up done in my neighbour's yard as the tree branches extended over the property line. Very well done!

Very happy, my Maple tree started to die in places. We had Derek come to trim and take the dead parts off. They also fertilized for me and will come back before fall to do it again. The tree is doing so much better since being trimmed. It was so clean after, I really couldn't tell they were even there! Thanks Derek for everything!
